About

Although you may think vampires and werewolves came out of Hollywood, it is the Victorian period where these creatures really had their origins. During this period horror stories were immensely popular and had developed to a high form by the end of this period.  Based on folk tales from previous periods all kinds of supernatural creatures came alive in the 100's of stories written.

Vampires came late to the mix of creatures.   Count Dracula  by Bram Stoker was published in 1897 and was one of the first highly popular vampire stories.  Werewolves have a much longer history in fiction both the 12th century and the 19th century had many werewolf stories that survive to today.
One region (Dark Radiance I) consists of a small corner of London named Cruor Cross near the outskirts of the city. The other adjoining region (Dark Radiance II) consists of forest land.  Please see the  Setting  page ( http://www.dark-radiance.com/setting.html ) for more information.

Dark Radiance was developed by Digital-Alchemyst (a pseudo business run by the the avatar Digit Ditko).  Digital-Alchenyst provides scripting services in Second Life™ and developed this web site.  For more information about Digital-Alchenyst, click here.
Digit Ditko, that pesky sim owner, has played table top roleplay games on and off for 30 plus years. Dungeons & Dragons, Paranoia, different GURPS games, Traveller, RuneQuest and RoleMaster have all been played over my kitchen table over the years.  Although I have not played Vampire: The Masquerade or Werewolf: The Apocalypse in table top roleplay, I have in other online roleplay.  I believe that these games will provide background information and good structure to roleplay in Second Life™.  Absolute strict adherence to these games is not necessary.

Most of my experience has been as game master, but I realize that Second Life is different.  My personal goal, is to provide a rich, immerse environment for roleplay on my Second Life land and collaborate with other roleplayers to create interesting and engaging  stories for ourselves and other players to enjoy.

Like a general, any game master soon realizes that any detailed plan never survives the first encounter.  Players always do something unexpected or never find the clues that we as game masters think are obvious.  The scenarios that may be developed for Dark Radiance, may never be discovered by the players and are not meant to force any type of RP, they are to be events that the players may take action on or not.

Have fun roleplaying!
