Dark Radiance is set
in the late Victorian era, approximately 1890 on the outskirts
of a fictitious London in an area called Cruor Cross.
The roleplay is loosely based on the World of Darkness by White Wolf Publishing. The intent is to use these sources as background information and character information for roleplay at Dark Radiance. The "Vampire: the Masquerade" , "Werewolf: The Apocalypse", "Mage: The Ascension" roleplay games provides rich information that players can use to develop their character and have an extensive "world" for background and character rules. |

The Setting
This is the late Victorian period, but set in a much darker world. The supernatural creatures that inhabit this area keep hidden from humanity, the vampire term for this is The Masquerade, the werewolves and Witches call this The Veil. Each supernatural races agrees that they must keep their presence hidden from humans. Garou - The garou are werewolves that protect Gaia (the Earth). They are the warriors and guardians that have been entrusted to fight against all that harm Gaia. They have made their way to the forest and dark caves that surround London, especially the small corner of Cruor Cross. Vampires - As expected from the Vampire: The Masquerade roleplay game,there is a prince that controls London, but they do not reside in the Dark Radiance area. All of London is controlled by the Camarilla sect, at least that is the assumption and any vampire clan can be a member of this sect. Witches - Cruor Cross has its own coven separate from the rest of London, they don't answer to any other Witch counsels. They deal punishments and rewards on their own terms and barely even acknowledge that the larger covens exist. |
