We are all here to have fun, therefore we expect everyone to have an fun enjoyable OOC role play experience. Our IC roleplay can be terrifying, nasty, joyous, sensual, whatever but as long as we are having fun it's OK.  However, there are situations that some players are just not comfortable roleplaying, This is why we need to have explicit consent, so players can be protected from bad IC experiences.
A player can at any time, IM their fellow players and inform them the certain scenarios are off limits / not of their consent. Often a player may list off limit scenarios in the RP notes in their profile.  The following list has some examples of scenarios a players may not wish to role play:

• Severe injury, disfigurement, torture, etc.
• Severe degradation or humiliation, slavery, mind control
• Religious roleplay
• Death or near-death of their player character
• Sex, sexual situations, sexual assault, pregnancy, etc.
• Or any other situation a player is not comfortable with.

Examples of times to get prior consent:
There are many situations where you as a player will need to get consent from other players and or the staff before even trying certain actions.

• Wide reaching storylines.  If your character is planning to summon Nyarlathotep from the realms of the outer gods to this little part of London, then there may need to be some coordination with other players and the administrators to get this storyline working.  Some things may be too jarring to the current existing storyline or simply not feasible from a technical stand point.   
• Attempting to kill another character. If you intend to kill another players character, the other player must consent. Period.   
• Sim / Build destruction or construction.  If your character is planning to burn down a building, build jetty in the harbour, cut down the forest, etc. you need to get permission from the administrators  your RP will not be accepted if you do not.   
• Theft / breaking in to local Business.  Local business owners have the right to consent or not to having their business vandalized.  The business owner may only have  certain types of things that you as a player could steal.  There could be wards of traps on things that your player will not know about until communicating with the business owner OOC.  It could just be too tiring for a business owner to let players vandalize their shop every week.  Talk to the business owner OOC and play it out together.  Work with the administrators as needed. 

 
Using Non-Consent to get out of situations
If a player does not want to suffer the consequences of their roleplay actions, wants the roleplay to turn out differently, or wants the sorry line to go a different way, using "I do not consent" as an excuse is not acceptable roleplay. 

The only constant in roleplay is it always turns out different that any player planned (that is part of the fun).

If there are situations that you don't want your player to encounter, there are a couple of choices. 

• Don't ever get your characters into those types of encounters
• Go with the RP, you can still control how severe and or detailed the consequences of your players actions get.

Dark Radiance is a mature region, the theme is dark in nature and has adult overtones.  Expect adult and sometimes even sexual themes, violent and threatening actions can and will occur in the course of RP here.  If your player does not wish to roleplay in these types of scenarios then, go somewhere else to roleplay.
