Consent Based roleplay
We are all here to
have fun, therefore we expect everyone to have an fun enjoyable
OOC role play experience. Our IC roleplay can be terrifying,
nasty, joyous, sensual, whatever but as long as we are having
fun it's OK. However, there are situations that some
players are just not comfortable roleplaying, This is why we
need to have explicit consent, so players can be protected from
bad IC experiences.
A player can at any time, IM their fellow players and inform them the certain scenarios are off limits / not of their consent. Often a player may list off limit scenarios in the RP notes in their profile. The following list has some examples of scenarios a players may not wish to role play:
Examples of times to get prior consent: There are many situations where you as a player will need to get consent from other players and or the staff before even trying certain actions.
Using Non-Consent to get out of situations If a player does not want to suffer the consequences of their roleplay actions, wants the roleplay to turn out differently, or wants the sorry line to go a different way, using "I do not consent" as an excuse is not acceptable roleplay. The only constant in roleplay is it always turns out different that any player planned (that is part of the fun). If there are situations that you don't want your player to encounter, there are a couple of choices.
