Business at Dark Radiance are for roleplay only.  They do not give you permission to sell items to other players for actual currency.

If you acquire a roleplay business rental, you will be expected to play a business owner or proprietor in your RP.  Some business are pre-defined, e.g. Newspaper, Tailor, Apothecary, Butcher, etc. but there are a few open business rentals for you to create your own type of business.  If you decide to rent an open business, please do not conflict with one of the pre-defined businesses.  As a business owner you may help shape the roleplay at Dark Radiance, this can include helping create new storylines for players and help promote and execute existing storylines. Obviously the storylines will feature your business if you participate. 

It is possible to change a pre-defined businesses into another type of business, but permission to do this must be obtained from the Dark Radiance staff first. 

 For pre-defined businesses the shop spaces have already been furnished and decorated to a large degree so you may not need to rez many objects to start using your business immediately. 

Dark Radiance will have periodic "Market Day" events for roleplay.  It is hoped that all the business owners will participate in the open market events. 

All business owners can request a custom tip jar for their own use.  100% of the tips will go the business owner.  Additionally, the Dark Radiance staff may have other period items that can be rezzed to help decorate.  The Dark Radiance staff will work with you to create a unique sign for your business.
